Notes:

First Game on 18 December 2003
Hong Kong Development XV (40) v Singapore Recreation Club (5)

The game started well for Hong Kong with 2 quick tries, but this early success led to a bit of overconfidence which, together with deteriorating weather conditions, resulted in the boys straying from the game plan and struggling for the rest of the half. Still, the defence was solid, and after the break we took the game to SRC, playing the game down their half and wearing down their bigger and slower forwards. Set piece ball was also good, and with the forwards recycling quickly space soon started opening up out wide, resulting in the Hong Kong backs and forwards running in a series of expansive tries. Notable performances included the excellent Jason Macleod, who stole lineout ball from the opposition at will, and capped a fine performance with a well-taken try.
